Independent CME Symposium: Current Perspectives in Parkinson Disease Psychosis for the Psychiatry Professional: Encore Presentation With Live Q&A

One of the most debilitating consequences of Parkinson disease (PD) is the development of psychotic symptoms, namely, hallucinations and/or delusions. PD psychosis (PDP) increases caregiver burden, predicts reduced patient quality of life, and is a major risk factor for hospitalization, nursing home placement, morbidity, and mortality. In contrast to motor symptoms, psychosis is often unrecognized and untreated. Clinicians must meet the challenge of timely recognition and optimal management of PDP to reduce the frequency and severity of psychotic symptoms with minimal worsening of PD motor symptoms. This CME-certified virtual encore presentation will provide clinicians with insights on pathophysiology, recognition, and therapeutic approaches to the management of PDP with a live Q&A.
